Having an affinity for trains comes from a childhood obsession. I remember watching the trains from my house picking up freight at the mills across the river, and as they went by my school at the double crossing tying up traffic of the people coming into town. We often had to wait for a lengthy train to pass before heading home from school. I never lost that love for trains and sixty years later I still find myself mesmerised by their existence!
